Tuesday, January 10, 8:15 pm

Team 7 was formed with 4 members consisting of:

•  Ryan Gozali

•  Ramez Attia

•  Vishal Kothari

•  Frank Zhou Yu

Each group members introduced themselves to each other and expressed their thoughts on every presentation made by the customers. Team 7 established a yahoo group called “ICS 125” and agreed to make it the formal mean of communication between team members

 

Friday, January 13, 10:00 pm

Team 7 was assigned to undertake Personalization & Privacy (POP) project. This project was requested by Yang Wang, a graduate student who specializes in the area of internet privacy. Yang expressed his intention to build a system that will be able to customize different privacy constraints for individual users from different privacy law backgrounds.

 

Friday, January 13, 11:00 pm

Team 7 assigned Ryan Gozali to be the contact person to the customer. Every means of communication (non-technical, e.g. arranging a meeting) will go through him with the hope of message synchronization to make sure that every team member is in the same page with each other, as well as the customer. Sent the first email to the customer, identifying our group to be the assigned team for the customer's project and proposed a schedule to meet for requirements gathering.

 

Saturday, January 14, 9:00 am

Customer replied the email and agreed on a time to meet on Monday 6:15 pm @ ICS2 room 270. Announced to the group email about the meeting conformation.

 

Monday, January 16, 6:15 am

All team members attended the first meeting with the customer which last approximately for an hour. The customer reiterated his project again in with more details and depth. Team 7 interviewed the customer to obtain the requirements of the project which basically is to modify & improve the current selection process that the system has. ArcStudio 3.0 only supports sequential processing and the customer requested a parallel processing to improve its processing time. The customer iterated that he will talk to the head of ArcStudio developer to see whether it is possible to support multi-processing on Wednesday morning and thus arranges a schedule to meet again on Wednesday, 6:00 pm in the same place.

 

Monday, January 16, 7:00 pm

After the customer left, team 7 discussed on some design methods to tackle the problem. The methods includes: Multi-threading, Multi-processing, Multi-processing-threading. Team 7 decided to assign every member to learn more about ArcStudio 3.0 and master the selector class.

 

Tuesday, January 17, 6:30 pm

Team 7 (except Ramez) meets at ICS lab 3 rd floor. Each team member was then dispersed to do different task as each member heads a specific section.

Vishal : heads the Requirements Document 1 assignment

Ryan : heads the website and logging assignment

Frank : heads the ArcStudio 3.0 research.

Everybody completed their task in 2 hours.

 

Wednesday, January 18, 11:00 am

Team 7 (except Ramez) had our first meeting with the Amir (Discussion TA). We decided that from today, the weekly meeting will be held on wednesday @ 11.00 am. We described our project to him and explain the complexity of our project which happen to be very unique compared to other groups. We showed him our website, requirements document, and logging.

 

Wednesday, January 18, 6:00 pm

Team 7 held their second meeting with the customer in ICS2 building. The customer has spoken to the designer of ArcStudio 3.0 and came back with the news regarding the software's capability to support our project of paralell processing.
